Ashley Karp is a multi award winning writer, director, cinematographer, musician and actress, whose productions, both on and off screen and stage, have showcased both nationally and internationally and have been awarded numerous accreditations. Ashley loves every aspect of the creational process and strives to adorn her artistic inspirations through film and theatre.

Ashley participated in Hollywood Fringe Festival 2025 as a director for "Slay Me", a one woman show written by and starring Veronica Rosas. "Slay Me" was nominated for the Fringe Award for Solo Theatre as well as the Loud Karma Emerging Women and Nonbinary Playwright’s Award, presented by Loud Karma Productions, LLC. Ashley was also one of the festival judge's for Short+Sweet Hollywood's first sponsored award for Hollywood Fringe Festival this year titled the "Spirit of the Fest" award.

Ashley is to direct an interactive existential comedy titled “The Pilgrimage”, written by Rebecca MCGlynn, to be featured at MythicFest 2025 between August 21st-31st 2025! Ashley has been announced as the new Festival Director for Short+Sweet Hollywood 2024 and 2025! Ashley is currently in production as a Co-Director/Co-DP for the Docu-Feature titled “The Goddesses of East L.A. - Stories of Resilience”, set to release in late 2025 on the film festival circuit. You can find out more about her current project here.

Ashley was awarded Judge’s (Industry) Choice for her work as a Director for the 10-Minute play Day of Days at Short+Sweet Hollywood in October 2022. Ashley’s actors in both of her directed plays at the same festival, A World Apart and Day of Days, each received Top Actor/Actor’s Circle awards as well as a Sponsored award provided by Superbloom at Short+Sweet Hollywood 2022. Her latest project - a self-written, directed, casted and produced horror-themed Podcast titled The Ol' Timey Spectral Hour won an award for Best Podcast at the Kapow Intergalactic Film Festival and a nomination for Best Audio Fiction Series at The Indie Series Awards. Her latest projects in which she was both a DP and an Editor for, La Wija and 'Manitas, have both won numerous awards and official selections on the film festival circuit.

In her spare time, Ashley loves to stream various video games on her Twitch channel under her streaming name Appynormal, as well as create wicked jams and spending quality time with her siblings and friends.
